BMS Family Book Club: We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a BMS Community Book Club on February 26, 2019 in the BMS library! Please join us for a very special BMS Community Book Club. We will be discussing, Breakout, by Kate Messner. The story revolves around a group of middle-school friends in Wolf Creek who are asked to contribute to their Community Time Capsule Project during summer vacation. Simple enough, right? Until two inmates escape from the town’s maximum-security prison. Told creatively through letters, poems, text messages, news stories, comics, and more collected by the main character, Nora, this scrapbook-style story captures a rich and layered portrait of Wolf Creek for generations to come. In this spirit, we invite all book club participants who are interested, the opportunity to become curators in creating a BMS Time Capsule. This project will capture and preserve the history and spirit of BMS as we know it long after the building is gone, but through our efforts, not forgotten. Note from Doctor Anderson: Over the next several weeks, each teacher will be making their students’ portfolios systematically available to parents. We encourage students and families to review these portfolios together. Our hope is that this will provide our families with further information on how their children are progressing. At anytime you have a question about student progress, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher via email. It is important to note that the portfolios will need to be returned to school as the students regularly use the portfolios to engage in the reflective practice. BMS Spotlight on Learning: This week we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Ms. Dail Bienkiewicz and our BMS Band. Last week, under the leadership of Mrs. B, the band played to a packed house.
